Today’s N.Y. Times has a lengthy and only slightly snarky* article on Boulder’s status as the first fully functioning smart grid city, a status which some of us who were accepted into the beta testing program and have heard nothing since from Xcel, the owner of the grid, contest. But never mind.
The salient point: “One nagging question is who will pay for this expensive project, a subject of growing concern among this city’s large cadre of energy and environment experts.”
* Media outlets in large markets seem to enjoy making fun of us in Boulder, mainly because we’re just so easy to make fun of, I think.
