South Korea Building Longer-Range Ballistic Missiles

Citing the threat from North Korea’s ballistic missile technology, South Korea and the United States have announced an agreement to extend the range of S. Korea’s missile range from the current 300 km to 800 km. The increase will put all of North Korea within range. It will also put a lot of China and some of Russia within range.

No doubt this is a response to concerns about North Korean aggression — but it also has something to do with China’s maritime assertiveness, and it has to make them a little nervous. Al Jazeera.
